SMART Myanmar hosted a two-day "Electrical Safety Training" workshop at the UMFCCI Building, conducted by engineers from Reed Consulting Bangladesh Ltd on November 13th and 14th from 9.00am to 5.00pm. The training targets SMART Myanmar consultants and other electrical engineers to ensure electrical safety in Myanmar garments industry. The training also aims to clear the basic concepts about electrical safety including electrical risk, hazard with control and prevention technics. The technical experts from SMART Myanmar and 12 participants who are electricians and electrical engineers from several different factories attended this workshop.
During the training session, the key elements such as electrical overheated issues, effects of exposed wiring, electrical hazard management system, electrical PPE (personal protective equipment), safe system of work, isolation, a risk assessment and electrical auditing as well as measuring performance and standard practices discussed among participants. The training also includes hands-on training through a visit in a factory to see on the job that how electrical auditing can be performed.
