SMART Myanmar received support from a German garment expert in September 2013. The SCP Consultants benefited from more than 50 years experience in the sector and gained deeper knowledge on garment specific issues through a 4 days intensive training sessions. The participants learned about different fibers and yarns and processes such as weaving, knitting, dying, drying, printing, cutting, sewing from a very technical perspective.

The knowledge will help the consultants to have more understanding of specific processes within garment factories and thus design a better Sustainable Production improvements and make business cases, using the same “language” as factory managers. Training on best practices in garment factories will continue during a training visit in India end of October.
