As one of SMART Myanmar's activities, staff from the project led a workshop in Naypyitaw in 2016 with 35 public procurers from 15 ministries, as well as a public-private dialogue with officials from the Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation and executive members of the Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association.

The topic of sustainable public procurement (SPP) was explored generally, and, in particular what this would look like with respect to public procurement of garments and textiles.
