On November 15th from 1pm to 5pm, SMART Myanmar was pleased to cooperate with the Luther Law Firm to conduct an "Employers' Briefing on Labour Laws" workshop at UMFCCI Building, Mingalar Hall. This half-day workshop is covered with presentations by a lawyer from Luther Law Firm and had a discussion on Myanmar labour law which is about formation of labour organization, rights and duties of labour organization as well as registration and executive committee.

The presentation is also covered on the topics of 2019 updates on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Law, social security, how to hire employees and registration of employment contracts, standard employment contract and since 14 May 2018, new minimum wage for workers is 4800 MMK and how to control and calculate the payroll system regarding minimum wages and deductions from salary according to the law. About 62 participants from a variety of industries and companies joined this workshop and ended-up with Q&A session.
