The SMART Myanmar project has conducted an e-commerce workshop & training program for the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) and Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association (MGMA) in December 2013 to inform and educate them on e-commerce and its potential uses.
During the discussion, the participants were able to learn many things about e-commerce, including typical examples like online shopping, electronic payments, online auctions, internet banking and online ticketing. They also explored the advantages of e-commerce and showed positive outlooks towards it.
The participants explored the technical side of e-commerce, including how can be implemented into business using CRM or any online shopping facilities and learned that by linking e-commerce to an automated CRM system would make all the data updated as well as make it easier for them to locate all the data in one place for information. They acknowledged that e-commerce will open their businesses to the world, creating higher export and greater wealth for Myanmar.
The discussion on e-commerce generated enthusiasm from the delegates as well as encouraged them to be the ambassadors for e-commerce within UMFCCI and MGMA.
