On the request of the SMART Myanmar project team and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI), ADFIAP conducted a 7-day website content development seminar-workshop for UMFCCI officers and its ICT team on September 18-24, 2013 at the UMFCC Headquarters in Yangon. ADFIAP is part of a consortium of implementing partner-institutions of the project called “SMEs for Environmental Accountability, Responsibility and Transparency or SMART Myanmar, for short.
ADFIAP’s Knowledge Management Unit Head and Sustainability Officer, Mr. Enrique Florencio, walked the participants through the basic principles of website development, discussed with them the basic components in maintaining it, explained the rules in web advertisement, the use of video and photo gallery and how to make it interesting, data uploading, etc. In addition, Mr. Florencio and the participants discussed the proposed sitemap and content of the UMFCCI website which was developed beforehand by ADFIAP and the ICT team. The event was capped with the formal handing over of the UMFCCI website to the participants in the presence of the SMART Myanmar representatives.
UMFCCI was founded in 1919 as Burmese Chamber of Commerce (BCC) and upgraded as a federation in 1999 to be in line with the adoption of the market-oriented economic policy of the Government.
